How the lotus bloomed
When the first property was purchased in 2023, there were two people and a vision of what could be possible. During those formative years, Svetlana Shulim and Daniel D'Alonzo invested their time, resources, ideas, energy, and belief into what would eventually become Rising.

The vision was far from clear. There was great uncertainty, no established community or understanding of what they were building, and no roadmap. There was only a belief that something meaningful could be created.
Together, they built a relationship with the land. They experimented. They made mistakes. They learned difficult lessons. They adapted, reinvented themselves, and continued moving forward.
While the project has evolved since those early days, the foundation was built through countless conversations, challenges, risks, and acts of faith.
Rising is not the result of a single moment or a single person. It is the continuation of a journey that began and continues to grow with people willing to believe in a possibility before it existed.
We honor those early years with gratitude, knowing they helped make everything that is following possible.
